devolved much criticism made by a colleague of mine on facebook about what is happening in Chile with the issue of teachers, the historic debt and the quality of education. While I agree with certain points, such as those on the presidential debate should focus on quality and not just what they owe to the teachers (which I believe is right), in most ; to greatly disagree with them ... even things I sounded too offensive! I do not think it is true that the great fault of the Chilean education is abysmal teachers, is an undeserved burden, especially for a large group of professionals (some people forget that teachers are not just for art's sake), at least in the public sector, has very poor conditions for conducting their work and that is handcuffed to achieve substantive improvements in education for the same position of the government. I know this as I get more because my parents are teachers and know the situation more closely, though they have nothing to do with either the historical, or the municipal system, but increased n so do classes in schools private-subsidized and some of the criticism comes to them, which I think is undeserved. It is true that there are professionals who do a bad job, as in ALL areas, but then to rank them as they all have a "debt" to the country to have education as it is, I find it really an exaggeration of the size of a ship. Sure, it's easier to shoot an enemy only several who are in hiding. Here the problem involves the whole society, because education not only make - And can not make it - a few who study a few years (several with sacrifice, great conviction and great expectations, that collapse to be hit in their work) about a given subject, so that the "fabulous" ( note the irony) students leave with more than air in her head. That is a task that starts at home, where the minimum that is needed are certain values of respect and deference to others, if the majority of children came with it to a municipal educational establishment, to be allowed to apply either the rules, the same as are enforced in a private-subsidized, for example, the story would be different ... but most likely, is that the credit would take less than any other subject teachers.
